Country Operations Manager

Job Summary
As the Country Operations Officer for Kenya, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily operational activities within the region. Your role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and efficient process implementation, all while serving as a key liaison between our local teams and our leadership in Nigeria. You will drive initiatives that enhance productivity, streamline processes, and support Vesti’s strategic growth in the Kenyan market.

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Operational Management:

o Oversee day-to-day operations within Kenya to ensure seamless execution of Vesti’s processes and initiatives.
o Develop and implement operational strategies that align with company objectives and local market dynamics.
o Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of operational activities, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

•⁠ ⁠Process Improvement & Execution:

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and optimize operational processes.
o Establish and maintain operational protocols and standards that adhere to both local regulations and Vesti’s internal policies.
o Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess efficiency and effectiveness across operational activities.

•⁠ ⁠Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:

o Ensure all operations comply with local laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
o Liaise with government bodies and local partners to secure necessary licenses, permits, and documentation.
o Stay updated on regulatory changes that may affect operations and adjust strategies accordingly.
•⁠ ⁠Team Leadership & Collaboration:
o Support and mentor the local operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
o Act as the primary point of contact for the Kenya team, providing guidance and ensuring alignment with the overall operational strategy.
o Work closely with the Deputy Operations Lead in Nigeria to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities.

•⁠ ⁠Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies.
o Coordinate with other country offices to share best practices and ensure consistency in operational standards.
o Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

•⁠ ⁠Strategic Planning & Execution:

o Contribute to the development of long-term operational strategies to support Vesti’s growth in Kenya.
o Identify market trends and potential challenges, proactively developing solutions to maintain operational agility.
o Participate in strategic planning meetings and provide insights based on local market conditions.

Qualifications

•⁠ ⁠Experience:

o Minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations management, preferably within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
o Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving operational improvements.
o Experience working in or with East African markets, particularly Kenya, is highly desirable.

•⁠ ⁠Technical Skills:

o Strong proficiency in operations management software and data analytics tools.
o Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Familiarity with local regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
